ron paul says this is final nail in the coffin

When future historians reflect on the turning point that marked the decline of the United States, they may pinpoint April 20, 2024.

On that date, Congress approved a bill funding multiple wars, granting sweeping surveillance powers to intelligence agencies, and authorizing the President to censor parts of the Internet at will. The nearly $100 billion "National Security Supplemental" bill, misleadingly named, ensures ongoing conflict in Ukraine, supports violent actions in Gaza, and escalates tensions with China.

This victory for the war advocates serves political agendas, particularly for President Biden, yet it gained surprising support from many Republicans. The looming elections discourage blame on Biden for perceived losses in Ukraine, despite previous failed investments. This new expenditure prolongs an illusion of progress while burdening Americans and perpetuating foreign conflicts.

Speaker Johnson secured these measures with backing from House Democrats, sidelining the Republican majority. The bipartisan agreement prioritized military-industrial interests over domestic concerns, exemplified by the House's celebratory display of Ukrainian solidarity amid a disregard for domestic issues.

Simultaneously, the Senate renewed Section 702 of the FISA Act, expanding warrantless surveillance capabilities. These actions raise concerns about the erosion of civil liberties and the consolidation of power.

Amidst these disheartening developments, a silver lining emerges: a growing dissent within Republican ranks against perpetual war. This dissent signals a shift in political consciousness, urging citizens not to lose hope and to advocate for peace despite entrenched interests.
